Free Tutoring Services

The Grant Campus Academic Tutoring Center offers both online and in-person tutoring sessions by appointment. 

The Academic Tutoring Center utilizes an online scheduling system for ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ students who would like to use our free tutoring services. Students will be able to view an online calendar with available sessions, make/cancel appointments, and upload files to share with the tutor. 

How To Register for an Account

If you need assistance with registering for an account, follow these steps:

  1. How to register for an account - Go to . Click on â€˜Register for an account’. Create a login using your ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ email address and a 10 plus character password. 
  2. How to schedule an appointment - Login to your account at  web portal to view the schedule. Click on the white box of your choice with the date/time most convenient for you. Complete the appointment pop-up form by choosing whether you would like an online or in-person session. You can also upload any documents you would like to share with the tutor. Click â€˜CREATE APPOINTMENT’
    • After scheduling an appointment, check your ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ email for confirmation. 
    • Zoom appointment: If you scheduled a Zoom appointment, the tutor will email you with a  Zoom Meeting ID number and password prior to the session. Please contact us if you are having technical difficulties. (See below for essential tools for Zoom).
    • In-person appointment:  Your in-person appointment will meet at your scheduled time at the Academic Tutoring Center located in the Learning Resource Center(LRC-149) on the Grant Campus. 
    • If a session is filled that you would like to schedule, join the â€˜WAITING LIST’. There is a link that appears at the bottom right of each day on the schedule. Click on the link and fill in the pop-up form. If an appointment opens up, a notification will be sent to you via text or email. 
  3. How to cancel an appointment: Log into the ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ tutoring portal at . Click on your appointment box and click on the 'CANCEL' button. You can cancel appointments at least 2 hours prior to the session.  

Cancellation Policy: As a courtesy to other students and your tutor, we ask that you cancel appointments at least 2 hours prior to the session. This will allow time for another student to schedule the session. If you do not cancel within that time, it will be counted as a missed (no show) appointment. After 3 no shows, your account will be deactivated. If this happens, contact the Academic Tutoring Center at: 631-851-6369 to request to reactivate your account.

Zoom Sessions

Zoom is a free online service allowing a tutor and student to use video and/or audio to conduct a tutoring session.

Essential Tools for an Online Tutoring Session

  • Computer with a headset or microphone and speakers or mobile or land line phone
  • Internet Access
  • Webcam (preferable but not required)
  • Zoom app if using a mobile device. There is no download needed if you are using a computer.
